We are committed to supporting local talents through this series of short documentaries called “We Are Creators”, showcasing some of the most inspiring emerging creators. We want to bring you close to the minds and souls that inspire and influence our community, sometimes without us even noticing it.
We’re claiming back the meaning of the word “creators” to who it belongs to; everyone! Everyone who is invested in creating positive experiences for others through their work.
This project is directed by our Co-founder and Marketing Director Vilson Junior in collaboration with the Photographer/Videographer Leon Nussbaumer.
Here is a short summary of the artists we’ve featured so far.
Ashwin Chacko, an illustrator & designer living and working in Dublin. Ashwin specializes in positive visual storytelling. He helps companies connect with their audience through illustrations & design. He is interested in uncovering the social interactions that drive culture. He seeks to capture these moments in bold lines & shapes, his compositions focus on a strong use of characters intermingled with typography and patterns. He likes to describe his work as positively playful.
Shy Mascot, a Dublin-based quintet who, through their inventive blend of familiar genres, bring a uniquely provocative sound to Ireland and beyond. By combining elements of funk, jazz, and hip-hop, they succeed in blurring the lines between traditional genres and reviving them with a fresh new groove. True to their musical ethos, Shy Mascot creates music that is an outward expression of inward experience. The product of their craft is a modern progression of sound to which the listener, the one who appreciates the authentic and embraces the different, can move and groove to.
Tom O’Hora, a product and landscape photographer, who is big into sunsets and vibrant colours.
Pedro Ferraz is a Brazilian chef living in Ireland. Pedro left Brazil to travel around Europe and to change his way of living. He discovered a love for cooking while living in Italy, where he studied gastronomy and worked in a 3 Michelin star restaurant called Enoteca Pinchiorri. Pedro has been in Ireland for more than 8 years, and he’s now the mind and the soul behind Bodytonic Music Group food operations.
Brian Giles aka Sonofafox is an Irish Printmaker and Graphic Designer. Through the process of screen printing, he loves to experiment with graphic abstract textures and strong colour combinations, often combining these two elements to produce bold and colourful artworks. His practice incorporates a range of processes such as silkscreen, large scale printing, paste-ups, collage, painting, risograph, and photography; all of which are re-contextualized through the print process.
